MAX bonds to the wood and to the finish on top. Fills don't break out during machining, and lacquer or oil bonds cleanly to the repaired surface.
No shrinkage
The filled defect keeps its volume through drying and sanding. No sunken fills, no second round, no board that comes back from finishing.
