Technical Data Sheet (TDS)

Key technical information about CosmetiWood PRO / MAX for production and processing.

TDS – Overview

CosmetiWood is a ready-to-use, water-based wood filler for repairing and finishing knots, cracks and other defects in solid wood, engineered flooring and veneer.

  • CosmetiWood MAX – optimised for manual application with spatula or putty-knife.
  • CosmetiWood PRO – optimised for automated filling in PAR-filler machines.

Main properties

  • Excellent adhesion to wood and common wood glues.
  • Very low shrinkage; defects remain filled over time.
  • Can be sanded, brushed, milled and finished like wood.
  • Good absorption and adhesion of finishing systems; natural look.
  • Ready to use, no mixing, minimal waste.

Application – CosmetiWood MAX

  • Ensure wood is dry, clean and dust-free; remove loose bark or fibres.
  • For complex or small surfaces, build up in one or more passes as needed.
  • Level off the surface; a thin layer around the defect can be sanded off later.

CosmetiWood MAX is supplied in aluminium cartridges. Use the DISPENSA dispenser or a suitable cartridge gun. After dosing, spread and smooth with a spatula.

Application – CosmetiWood PRO

  • CosmetiWood PRO is designed for CSP Engineering PAR-filler machines.
  • Automatic detection and filling of defects provides consistent quality.
  • High viscosity ensures deep filling of large as well as fine cracks.
  • Fast touch-dry time enables stacking without spacers after a short initial drying phase.

CosmetiWood PRO can also be applied manually where a higher viscosity filler is preferred. Application is similar to MAX but requires a bit more pressure when spreading.

Drying, sanding & finishing

  • CosmetiWood dries by evaporation of water.
  • Touch-dry after a short time (minutes). Sandable after several hours in open air. Longer time needed when boards are stacked.
  • For industrial settings, drying parameters should be optimised in the line.
  • After full drying, CosmetiWood can be sanded and machined like wood.
  • Compatible with common industrial finishing products. Always test with your specific system.

Packaging & storage

  • Supplied in aluminium cartridges.
  • Typically packed as 6 cartridges of 2.5 kg in a box.
  • Store in a cool, dry place.
  • Protect from frost and direct sunlight.
  • Keep cartridges closed when not in use.

Cleaning & safety

  • Clean tools with water immediately after use.
  • Once dried, remove residues mechanically.

For full safety and regulatory information, always consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for CosmetiWood.
